Why are college students protesting? This man wrote a thinkpiece.

Across the country, students are rising in protest against their administrations. The whole thing seems strange to me. When I was in college, it was the best four years of my life. I made great friends, pursued an intellectual and spiritual journey, and of course went to some sweet keggers. What was there to protest?

High school, on the the other hand, was awesome too, hanging out with my buddies and girlfriend Susan. It was almost as good as middle school, which was a carefree joy for three years.

My 20s were sweet lemonade of love, clarity, and fun. My 30s were even better, if that’s possible, which it isn’t because my 20s were so amazing. My 20s and 30s are even.

In my 40s, I raised a family and it was a goddamn blast. I also discovered the joys of not having such a young body.

My 50s were lively. My 60s were rocking. My 70s kicked ass. Now that in my 80s (the twilight years, as they say), I can honestly say it’s the best – no, equal to the best – time of my life.

Looking back on it, I’ve never had a bad day. In conclusion, I guess what I’m trying to say is that I’m surprised people are protesting because life is so great all the time and has never been anything other than awesome.
