Editorial: Is Everyone Crazy But Me?

I was reading the news earlier today, and I was so shocked at the state of humanity I just have to ask:
Is everyone insane but me?
Between the terrorism, the economy, the rise of neoconservative values, are people really acting sanely right now?
Blocking refugees from entering the US? This is an issue that we’re talking about right now?
It just boggles my mind. I must be the only sane person left.
Am I really the only one who thinks we need to worry about issues at home first? Like the fact that our infrastructure is literally crumbling to the ground as I write this? My walls are literally melting right now and we’re talking about immigration?
Are we going to ignore the elephant in the room? That big, Ganesh-looking entity with spiral eyes that is spitting fire everywhere?
And maybe the ‘aliens’ we should be discussing are Bort and Grobar, the intergalactic odd-couple who operate a dry-cleaner out of my basement.
The world needs to focus its priorities. We have seen history repeat itself yet we keep making the same mistakes. Isn’t that the definition of insanity? We need to shift our focus to tackling the more pressing issues of our time.
I may be clinically insane, but I’m starting to wonder if I’m the only sane one left in this world.
